Dr. Nakita Savant holds degrees in Higher Education Leadership (EdD), Special Studies: Women’s Studies, English (MS), and Applied Psychology (BS), is a Master Practitioner of Neurolinguistics, and holds a certification in Holistic Health. Before joining Yorkville University, Nakita was an Assistant Program professor in the Doctor of Education Leadership program at Saint Mary’s University of MN, a Curriculum Specialist at Capella University, and served as an Associate Dean of Faculty. Her teaching and research focus on transformative educational praxis, culture and health, and feminist theory. Her published works explore critical pedagogy, educational transformation, neurolinguistics, and the intersectionality within factors in diversity, equity, and inclusion and their impact on the lived human experience. Nakita is also a worship assistant at the Unitarian Universalist Church and brings to the Faculty of Education a heightened awareness of the connection between mind, body, and spirit.
