Derrek has been with the Toronto Film School/Yorkville University since 2021. He developed and leads the Graduating Project Courses BCAR4113 and BCAR4123. He is the CFO + SVP Corporate Development of DougallMedia, which operates a network with multiple radio stations, television stations, print publications, and digital news portals servicing Thunder Bay and the surrounding region. Derrek is also an Adjunct Professor of Policy and Strategy at the Schulich School of Business and is the Managing Partner of Kewin Consulting, a firm that provides consulting services to First Nations, Tribal Councils and Indigenous owned organizations in the areas of Economic Development, Planning, Organizational Excellence and Effective Partnerships. He is also the founder of Crystal Fractal Comics and Characters.
