Helen Lyons

Helen Lyons is an educator and a science and technology consultant, based in in British Columbia. Her early career was in clinical research in immunology, oncology and biotechnology at McGill University and University of Toronto. After relocating to Fredericton in 1986, she was engaged as a consultant to the Regional Lab of the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital from 1987 to 1994. In 1993 she created Pharos Technologies in Canada and, in 2010, created Suncoast Professional Group in Florida. Both entities provided consulting and design services in media, science and technology research and education. Ms. Lyons has provided research services to both the academic and private sector as well as training and tutoring in mathematics and technology. She is currently developing online educational resources for media and technology applications. In 2012 Helen was invited to join Yorkville University at the inception of the online BBA program, first as a course developer and currently as an instructor. As a strong advocate of math and science education, Helen is part of the core founding group of Science East in New Brunswick, serving on the board from 1993 to 1998. She is also a firm believer in early education as an essential element for productive, lifelong learning. Helen served on the board of the Preschool Centre in Fredericton from 1990 to 1997, and is a past president.
