Martyn’s earliest and foremost interests have always been towards fine art and design. A career of being creative in a three-dimensional way, with possibilities to educate, entice or evoke emotion appealed to him. As a visual merchandiser, he found an outlet to employ his passions for aesthetics and took every opportunity to move through this diverse field gaining exposure and appreciation. Visual merchandising is a fast-paced profession of creativity and significance which he enjoys and regards immensely. Martyn is proud to have been involved in award-winning window displays, published in Inspiration, VM+SD and design: retail magazines while working at two of Canada’s leading department stores – flagship locations. Now, working freelance has provided Martyn with new opportunities. He had the pleasure of being with the Toronto Film School for the past nine years, teaching in Marketing for Fashion & Film, Graphic & Fashion Design and Interior Decorating programs. He enjoys sharing his insight and expertise while impressing upon the students his appreciation for all things visual. Martyn is driven by great pride and satisfaction watching his students realize their potential and seeing them off to their chosen careers.
